Government Revealed the Total Number of Pakistanis Died Abroad due to COVID-19

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while presenting the details of Pakistanis who died abroad due to coronavirus in the National Assembly, said that a total of 986 Pakistani bodies have been shifted to Pakistan, including the bodies of 123 people who died from COVID-19.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the bodies of 1,134 people who died abroad from COVID-19 have been buried locally while the active cases of Corona in Pakistan remained at 25,000.

In the last 24 hours, 1,063 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Pakistan and 27 people have died.

According to the National Command and Operations Center, 244,838 people have recovered in the country so far. In the last 24 hours, 21,256 tests were conducted. The highest number of tests took place in Sindh province.

The total number of people infected with Coronavirus in Sindh is 119,398, Punjab 92,452, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,724, Balochistan 11,654, Islamabad 14,963, Kashmir 2,055 and Gilgit-Baltistan 2,042. A total of 5892 people have died in Pakistan so far.

The Current Situation of COVID-19 in Pakistan

The number of active cases of corona in Pakistan has come down to 25,177. According to the National Command and Operations Center, 20,507 corona tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, while 1,973,237 tests have been conducted so far.

In the last 24 hours, only 903 new cases have been reported across the country, bringing the total number of Corona patients to 278,305. While the number of patients recovered from corona has reached 247,177 and the number of active cases has come down to 25,177.

The number of certified corona patients in Sindh is 120,550, in Punjab 90,873, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,958, in Balochistan 11,732, in Islamabad 15,014, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir 2,073 and in Gilgit Baltistan 2,105.

So far, 89% of Corona patients have recovered, out of which, 110,223 people belong to Sindh while 82,526 people belong to Punjab. 28,450 people have been recovered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,494 in Islamabad, and 10,116 in Balochistan.

In the last 24 hours, 27 people across the country have succumbed to corona, bringing the total number of deaths across the country to 5,951 while 210 patients are on a ventilator in hospitals across the country.

Traders Rejected the Government’s Order of Lockdown – Riots Against the Government

To curb coronavirus cases and prevent it from spreading on special days, the Punjab government in a meeting yesterday formulated the strictest lockdown strategy. After which it was announced that the strictest lockdown should be implemented from July 28 to August 5 so that the happy moments on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha do not turn into sorrows like the previous Eid.

But today, in different cities of Punjab, notably Lahore and Faisalabad, traders have opened shops in defiance of government lockdown orders. In Lahore’s Azam Market and various markets in Faisalabad, traders blew up the government’s strategy and opened shops and resumed business as usual. The situation in Sargodha is also tense and the administration has sought help from the army.

Police rushed to the spot and closed the shops by force. As a result, dozens of resisting traders were arrested. Traders say the closure of shops on Eid is causing irreparable damage to business and they will not allow the government to do so.

Protesting traders say that their businesses are already suffering due to poor government policies, and will not close shops anymore. Traders rallied in various places against the government’s orders and demanded an end to the lockdown.

Chinese Hackers Stole Sensitive Info About Corona Vaccine

The US Department of Justice has accused two Chinese nationals of trying to steal research on the corona vaccine in several countries, including the United States. Assistant Attorney General of National Security John Demers said Li Xiaoyu and Dong Jiazhi also targeted human rights activists in the United States, China, and Hong Kong.

John Demers said the hackers were present in China and were outside the scope of US law. They tried to steal information in the interests of themselves and the Chinese Ministry of State Security.

The FBI deputy director said the cybercrime directives from the Chinese intelligence service were dangerous not only for the United States but for any country that speaks of transparency, global values ​​, and the rule of law.

U.S. Attorney William Heiszloop said the computer systems of many businesses, individuals, and agencies in the United States and around the world have been hacked, and sensitive and valuable business secrets, technology, documentation, and personal information are being stolen.

Last week, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom claimed that a group of hackers working for Russian intelligence had tried to steal information about the corona vaccine from pharmaceutical companies around the world.

U.S. intelligence agencies have warned that a covert espionage war has begun in the world to steal information on coronavirus vaccine development, and every country is trying to somehow take the lead in this war.
