How Much Extra Revenue has the FBR Collected in July 2020

According to the latest reports, the FBR collected additional revenue in July, the first month of the new financial year. The FBR’s first-month target was Rs 243 billion but the government collected Rs 300 billion.

Excellent FBR tax collection in july, Rs. 57 bn more than target, reflect good performance of new FBR team & a sharp bounce back of Pak economy due to a highly successful covid control effort , allowing economic activties to resume, while other countries continue to struggle

The FBR says that despite the government’s relief of Rs 25 billion in customs duties and tax refunds of Rs 15 billion to the business community, the FBR has collected more revenue than the target.

On the other hand, Special Assistant Shahbaz Gul said in his tweet that the tax target for the first month of the year was Rs 243 billion, and the collected revenue is 300 billion. This increase was possible only due to better administrative control and supervision.

Shahbaz Gul further wrote that Pakistan is changing, despite additional revenue of Rs 57 billion, relief of Rs 25 billion has been given in customs duty and 15 billion refunds have been issued to the business community. The Finance Act 2020 does not impose any new taxes or duties on customs.

Investigation Report From the CFO of Sharif Family by NAB Came to Light

After the arrest of Muhammad Usman, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Sharif family, money laundering investigation has increased the difficulties of the Shahbaz Sharif family.

An investigation report from Shahbaz Sharif family’s CFO  has come to light. The NAB report said that Muhammad Usman, the chief financial officer of the Sharif family, had assisted the Shahbaz Sharif family in money laundering.

NAB has submitted the investigation report of Sharif family’s CFO Muhammad Usman to the accountability court.

The report states that the FMU has sent a report to the NAB on suspicious transactions in Shahbaz Sharif’s accounts. On October 23, 2018, investigation started on money laundering and assets beyond income. During the investigation, it was revealed that Shahbaz Sharif family created assets worth more than Rs 7 billion.

According to the NAB report, the Shahbaz Sharif family used fake sources to increase their income and organized money laundering with the help of their employees. The accused Muhammad Usman is involved in corruption and corrupt practices and is a facilitator in money laundering.

The report said that accused Muhammad Usman facilitated money laundering of Shahbaz Sharif and others and played an important role in money laundering. The CFO used to do money laundering on the instructions of Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, and Salman Shahbaz.

It may be recalled that the accused Muhammad Usman, who was arrested on the day of Eid, is in the custody of NAB on physical remand and further revelations are likely to come to light during interrogation.

According to reliable resources, Provincial Management Service (PMS) examination 2020 is going to be commenced from the 24th of August 2020.

The PMS exams are usually conducted in the months of June-July, but because of COVID-19 the examination date was extended.

According to the reports, PPSC is currently making arrangements for the confirmation of examination centers so that exams can be completed before the 15th of September 2020.
