21st April is the 82nd anniversary of Allama (Doctor) Muhammad Iqbal. He was a great philosopher, poet, lawyer, and a politician. He was born on 9th November 1877, in the city of Sialkot, Pakistan. He started his study in Sialkot and Lahore, afterward went to the UK for higher studies. He became a Barrister and also achieved his Ph.D.
Westerns also got inspired by Allama Iqbal, many western universities got a separate department for the study of the work of Allama Iqbal. There are also honorary Chairs in those universities by the name of Allama Iqbal to respect, admire and promote his work. He wrote many books and his poetry was very inspiring who motivated the Muslims not only at the time of the partition but until today, Muslims all over the world, read Iqbal’s poetry for inspiration and motivation. In his address at the annual meeting of the All India Muslim League, on 30th December 1930, in order to solve the ongoing communal problem in India, he presented his idea of a separate homeland for Muslims in India. The idea of partition was transformed into the Pakistan Resolution on 23rd March 1940, and, then, it became a reality in the shape of independent.
